ABSTRACT
The purpose of this session is to bring together some society and education issues, with certain arguments that can be put today in connection with the teaching of the history of science, to justify it : firstly, to take a critical look at speeches mobilizing science, and secondly, to nuance the approach of the notion of culture. The session will be focused on the one hand, on knowing better those social issues, thanks to the participation of a media sociologist and a didactician specialized in the scientific argumentation. Angeliki Monnier, a media specialist working on collective and discursive identities as well as nationalisms, will examine the way in which the information and communication sciences have thought the use of the media, especially digital, in connection with the study of human collectives. She will propose her own framework, inspired by the sociological approach of P. Bourdieu, revisiting the culturalist approach, to take into account the macrosocial structures, the politico-media news and the technical characteristics of the devices. Gabriel Pallarès, a science educator specializing in social phenomena, will address the issues of socio-scientific argumentation, highlighting the epistemological complexity of the notion of "what proves, in science" through the example of uncertainty. On the other hand, the interventions will begin to initiate a reflection on what could be specific to the history of science teaching, in relation to other possible approaches to promote the adoption of critical posture with students. Barbara Jamin is a history teacher in the second degree, a trainer of the high school group in history-geography and counselor in laïcité. She co-organized the option "history of science" in fifth grade with Matthieu Husson, historian of science (Observatoire de Paris, CNRS). She will discuss what seemed to her to be issues specific to the interdisciplinary teaching of the history of science, as part of a "history of science" discovery option, co-supervised by teachers from several disciplines, especially connected to the question of the documentary approach.

PROGRAM
