Thematics 2012–2017

One of the tasks assigned to the history of science is to situate knowledge not only in time, but also in geographical, linguistic and social space. In this perspective, to study the dynamics of knowledge is to analyze their circulation, which aims to highlight the transformations that occur on their contents and their configurations during the process of circulation. To grasp this one, it is fruitful to multiply the points of view. The translation of scholarly texts between different languages is discussed here in the broader context of such an analysis. Other works follow the itineraries of actors of the circulation of knowledge. Finally, the reception of knowledge in an environment different from that in which they were produced and the reconstructions thus induced are to be studied not only in cases where we move from one linguistic milieu to another but also within The same society, where various groups can take ownership of this knowledge.
