Les mouvements de traduction du IXe siècle ont abouti à la formation d’un vaste corpus de textes médicaux qui ont forgé rapidement la littérature médicale en langue arabe. Après un premier aperçu de l’histoire de ces traductions, nous nous pencherons plus spécifiquement sur la transmission du corpus hippocratique et en particulier celle des Aphorismes en arabe.

:: La providence divine dans la tradition péripatéticienne grecque, arabe et latine

Malgré un engouement assez récent pour les théories anciennes de la providence divine, du travail reste à faire, en particulier pour les traditions péripatéticiennes. Les conférences ici prévues portent sur des épisodes cruciaux de cette histoire, à propos desquels il s’agit de mettre en valeur l’importance de textes de référence pour ce problème qui ont jusqu’ici été laissés dans l’ombre de la Métaphysique, voire négligés – comme le deuxième livre de la Physique du côté des lecteurs d’Aristote en grec, en arabe et en latin, ou encore le Liber De bona fortuna du côté de ses lecteurs latins dans la seconde moitié du 13e siècle.
