Thematics 2012–2017
This theme is centered on the study of forms of construction of the past in the present, in their diversity and in context, as well as the uses of these forms in different social groups. One of the key objectives is to equip ourselves with critical tools vis-à-vis the historiography we inherit as well as to clarify the political, social and institutional issues that influence the writing of the history of Sciences.

Thus, within the ERC project SAW, research will be carried out on the writings of the history of mathematics (on Which we also carry out a historical work) since the nineteenth century. There is also a broader historiographic reflection on the world history of science in the context of empires, decolonization and internationalism. The European ANR project MEREAF explores how the study of the ruins, artefacts and affects left by the past Science in Africa can be taken into account in the writing of the history of science today.
