Rovelli’s Relational Quantum Mechanics
Abstract: I will review some basic ideas and results presented in the literature on the relational interpretation of quantum mechanics introduced in arxiv:quant-ph/9609002. Special emphasis will be given to the commonalities and differences with other frameworks. The main advantages of the picture are its simplicity and the ease with which it resolves many apparent paradoxes. As disadvantages one may consider the same loss of unitarity as in the Copenhagen interpretation and the weakening of the notion of ontology by denying stronger forms of scientific realism.
