[...] This special issue of Philosophia Scientiæ is based on the work of the ANR Mathesis and gives some examples of the change of view they arouse in the appreciation of the relationship between mathematics and philosophy in Leibniz. The articles presented bring to light elements of Leibnizian epistemology, an epistemology which is sometimes given explicitly, sometimes implicitly in the manners and methods it employs. The authors propose an approach nourished by attention to technical detail, the analysis of which offers the means of a renewed elucidation of the philosophical implications of Leibnizian mathematics.
